The Platelet Services team returned home buoyant from a successful trip to Orlando for the Society of Toxicology 64th Annual Meeting and ToxExpo. It was our first attendance at this conference, and the format worked well for us. The poster sessions were outstanding, sited in multiple sections around the huge exhibition hall with plenty of space to view and comfortably discuss content, they covered a variety of scientific topics and were eagerly digested by attendees. Our poster “Getting the conditions right: platelet cytotoxicity assays to understand the effects of BH3 metrics and PROTAC DT2216 on platelet viability in vitro” was well recieved and inspired enthralling discussions from delegates.
At our exhibition booth we enjoyed interesting and useful discussions with attendees, which we hope will develop to collaborations and projects in the future. We valued the scientific sessions and also the short profession-associated sessions that took place in the Tiny Tox Theatre, just along from us at booth #1077. At the end of each day we emerged into the March Florida sunshine and discovered racoons and other local wildlife on the convention centre doorstep- a refreshing variation to life in Nottingham!
Platelet Services next conference will be the April Platelet Society meeting in Manchester, UK. Keep an eye on our News & Events page for more information.
